Leg Act News Highlights
GOP Attempts to Restrict Voters Overseas.
Many U.S. citizens live outside of the U.S. and must vote using special forms. These forms were unexpectedly changed in late August. Normally, such changes would take months, but the Pentagon pushed this change through under the guise of an emergency request.
Proposed Changes to the Census
New rules have been proposed by the Department of Commerce for the U.S. Census. Legal challenges are expected since this is considered illegal under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. An estimated 16 million individuals would all lose representation.
