The May 4 Leg Act News explains the proposed New York Health Act (NYHA), S3425/A1466. This bill is a universal, comprehensive, single-payer plan to provide quality care to all New Yorkers, regardless of income, wealth, or employment status.

Talk to your family, friends, and any groups you belong to about this plan. Provide the web link and email so they can check for themselves and get questions answered. Call and speak to your legislators. Explain the difficulties you have with your own health insurance and tell them you support the New York Health Act. Follow up your phone call with a letter and demand that the legislators respond. Finally, reach out to candidates running for the NY Senate and Assembly, ask what they know about the NYHA, and provide them with reasons to support the bill.

Call your legislators and those running for local office to advocate for the New York Health Act.
Visit 866OURVOTE.org. Make a plan to vote early in both the Primary (June 13 to 21) and the November election. Make sure you are registered. If you get to the polls and a problem is stopping you from voting, ask for a provisional ballot and follow up with the Board of Elections and 866OURVOTE.org. Likewise, if you are unable to vote because of a disruption or intimidation, talk to the election workers, the Board of Elections, and call 866OURVOTE.org.
MONDAYS AT THE COURTHOUSE. Every Monday from 4 to 5, there is a dedicated effort to protest. Please join us for an hour. Bring a sign.
