Leg Act News Highlights
Trump and Congress
Trump claims a non-legal settlement with the Department of Justice, creating a $1.776 billion “slush fund” for compensation, including January 6 rioters. The fund is unapproved by Congress, raises legal questions, and is funded by taxpayer money. These actions violate constitutional principles and bypass legislative oversight.
The newsletter condemns Congressman Langworthy’s focus on distractions rather than on addressing government corruption and constitutional violations.
Campaign and Civic Engagement
Andy Fagan seeks state matching funds for his NYS Assembly campaign, requiring donations from district residents. Supporters are encouraged to donate via ActBlue or mail a check, with a goal of at least 75 individual donors. If your household has more than one eligible donor, consider making separate donations to help meet the matching-funds threshold.
Calls to members of Congress are recommended to oppose the anti-weaponization fund and Trump’s tax immunity.

Call Congressman Nicholas Langworthy (call the Corning HQ) at 607-377-3130 to protest Trump’s slush fund and tax immunity agreement with the Department of Justice. Tell Langworthy you believe in the Constitution, and a Congressman who flagrantly ignores our most sacred body of guidelines should be voted out.
Call Senators Schumer at 607-224-6542 and Gillibrand at 315-448-0470. Let them know that you support their efforts to stop the Anti-Weaponization fund and Trump and son’s immunity for tax audits.
If you usually vote by mail, make sure you know that you need to register for your ballot every election. Contact your county Board of Elections or go to this link: Request a Ballot - Early Mail or Absentee Ballot to have a ballot mailed to you. The last day to request a ballot online for the June 23 primary is June 14. If you are mailing your request, remember the post office has been slower with mail. Submit your request as soon as possible, and do not delay in mailing your ballot back.
If you do not have transportation to the early voting site (Tioga County Board of Elections, 1062 State Route 38, Owego) for the primary (June 13-21), please email Tioganydems@gmail.com.
Visit 866OURVOTE.org. Make a voting plan for both the primary (June 13-21) and the November election. Make sure you are registered. If you get to the polls and a problem is stopping you from voting, ask for a provisional ballot and follow up with the Board of Elections and 866OURVOTE.org.
